Monday this week saw a number of the Friends get together and volunteer for a tree planting event in Knowsley. This spring planting follows on from the autumn planting event in May.

Date: Monday September 23rd, 2024
Where: Adjacent to former Knowsley Station, on the O’Keefe Rail Trail.

Members of FBKRT have again shown a strong empathy with the trail environment and its impact on the surrounding landscape.

The event was organised by the Parks team at City of Greater Bendigo, led by Ami Greenfield. Ami was very grateful for the volunteers from the FBKRT, and their ongoing support of the trail and surrounds.

There will be another tree planting event at the Campaspe River Reserve in Axedale, starting at 8.30am this coming Monday (September 30th, 2024). New members are always welcome, and a great chance to get involved with your sleeves rolled up. There will be a social coffee at the nearby Rise and Grind café afterwards. Come along and get to meet some of the great and passionate Friends. BYO gloves and sunscreen, and some drinking water. All else will be there.
