Twelve members of the Friends of the Bendigo-Kilmore Rail Trail took to the tracks for their monthly ride, venturing from Maiden Gully to Marong via off-road forest trails. Under clear blue skies, the riders enjoyed the scenic journey through bushland, navigating the dusty terrain that added a touch of adventure to the outing.

The monthly ride, a regular activity for the group, provides members with an opportunity to explore the region’s natural beauty while staying active and social. Despite the dry conditions kicking up dust along the way, spirits remained high as the cyclists pedalled towards their halfway point in Marong.

Upon arrival, the group made a well-earned stop at the Marong Coffee Van, where they enjoyed refreshments and a chance to chat about the ride. The coffee break served as a perfect mid-ride respite before the return journey.

The Friends of the Bendigo-Kilmore Rail Trail community group continue to promote cycling in the region, encouraging community involvement and appreciation for local trails, that includes the O’Keefe Rail Trail and the Bendigo Bushland Trail. With another successful ride completed, the group looks forward to their next adventure on two wheels in April. New members are most welcomed, with membership application available on-line via this website.
