November “Last Wednesday” ride

“Amazing!”, was the quote of the day.

Despite the uncertain weather conditions, 12 FBKRT braved the possibilities, and arrived at Pratts Park carpark for the Honeyeater Bushland Reserve ride.

Thanks to Mal Ward, who chose the route and led the ride, made a late change and avoided the Wellsford Forest due to the soggy terrain. Instead riding further along the O’Keefe Trail. The ride turned off just after the Baptist Church onto the Honeyeater Bushland Reserve.

Mal spoke of the history and the dedicated work being done there. All were impressed with the size of the Reserve and the amount of tree planting.

From the Honeyeater Bushland Reserve the ride headed along the creek path at Strathfieldsaye for a coffee at Forage Cafe.

After the well earned coffee, back on the bikes, and the route then headed into the bushland, through the Junortoun housing estate and back along the O’Keefe Trail. Despite the humidity, the rain held off.

Such a lovely ride, thanks Mal. “We must do it again one day.”
