Did you know your empty drink containers can help build new facilities on the O’Keefe Rail Trail—and support our vision to extend the rail trail to Wallan, and create a connecting trail to Rushworth?

By donating your container refunds through the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), you can directly support the work of the Friends of the Bendigo–Kilmore Rail Trail (FBKRT). It’s simple, free, and every container counts.

How Your Containers Make a Difference

Funds raised through CDS donations can help the Friends group to:

  • Provide additional facilities along the O’Keefe Rail Trail

  • Advocate for trail extensions, such as Heathcote – Wallan and Heathcote – Rushworth

  • Strengthen community support for safe, connected, and accessible rail trails
