Friends of the Bendigo-Kilmore rail trail

Linking central Victoria via the old railway line

Tony and “Ammo”

You may spot a couple of close mates out along the stretch of the O’Keefe Rail Trail, somewhere near Strickland Road, East Bendigo.

His name is Tony Lester, and his faithful companion is “Ammo”.

Tony lives at “Grassy Flat” (East Bendigo), not far from the trail, and is to be seen travelling on the trail anywhere between Pratts Park Road to beyond the Bobs Street viaduct.

He enjoys the safety of the rail trail, its diversity, and is obviously not worried about the cold winter.

“One day” says Tony, “I’d like to extend my trip to Axedale, but would need someone to pick me up at the end!”

So if you see Tony, you may take the time to say “gidday” and have a chat. He’s a good bloke, Ammo a great friend!
