What’s new to see and do when out enjoying the O’Keefe Rail Trail and the natural environment of four State forests? While travelling through the Knowsley Forest, there are the recently upgraded facilities of this forest’s Smart Track Day Visitor Area.

As well as this area’s new toilets and various seating at tables adjacent to the water dam, there is now an operational gas BBQ with two hot plates under the newly installed shelter.

With directional signs placed at the McIvor Highway forest entrances, visitors using cars can easily drive into this forest’s day facility to meet rail trail users for a BBQ picnic while enjoying the surrounding forest.

The Knowsley Forest’s Smart Track Day Visitor Area is managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), and the public is welcomed to use this facility. Do remember that upon leaving this area to take away with you all items and any rubbish, so that others may also enjoy this forest and its facilities.
