Over time, some dust settles, paint fades, and spiders weave their webs! So it was for the O’Keefe Rail Trail’s famous ‘whistle post’ signs. So a fresh look with a new coat of paint was what was needed. Well, it had been 15 years since the original and last painting!

With the sanding and repairs done, it was ladders, paint rollers and brushes in hand that saw some paint working bees being done by Friends members Steve, Ken, Lindsay, Mal, Lawrie, and Garry. Not all the paint ended up on the signs, although the end result has attracted a deal of positive comments!
