Rail trails form links between communities in more ways than on the ground. Members of the Friends recently met with representatives from the steering group of the proposed Daylesford-Macedon rail trail to share experiences.
The potential for links with that region is exciting. The Great Dividing Trail already runs between Bendigo and Ballarat passing through the Daylesford region. While mostly a walking track, sections are already accessible by bike and works are slowly under way to extend that access. One day it might be possible to ride around the whole region on off-road trails.
