Friends of the Bendigo-Kilmore Rail Trail

A picnic at the races used to be a popular day out and you’d get there from Melbourne or Bendigo by the train. The platform is long gone but now the Friends are planning to rebuild a small part of the Axedale Racecourse platform. Together with interpretive signage, the aim of the reconstructed platform is to give trail visitors a feel for what used to be there. This will be one of our major projects for next year, so we’ll be reporting on progress.
