With the new year arriving, this is expected to provide many new opportunities for cyclists and walkers to enjoy the freedom to experience the new O’Keefe Rail Trail, as well as exploring other trails with friends and family.
Whether it is 2016 organised events like the Heathcote Community Games’ Relay Event (cycle leg, on O’Keefe Rail Trail – 20 Feb 2016) or the O’Keefe Rail Trail Marathon (1 May 2016), perhaps just a lazy family day exploring the rail trail and the Campaspe Rv at Axedale, the attraction is also this exciting new community asset of the O’Keefe Rail Trail.
Together with Mitchell Bicycle User Group, the Friends group also looks forward to the support from the various communities and individuals in assisting to achieve a positive outcome from the Wallan to Heathcote Rail Trail feasibility study, expected later in 2016.
