The Friends were invited to attend a council-arranged community meeting at Knowsley. Among other items on the agenda were the council plans for the rail trail in the Knowsley area. Together with council’s Manager, Brett Martini,  Friends’ Convenor Garry Long was able to inform as well as answer rail trail questions from local residents. The general feeling of the local residents and landholders was very positive.

Knowsley station was built in 1890. Not unusually, the post office is located on the platform too. (Date unknown. Photo courtesy Heathcote McIvor Historical Society.)
