The O’Keefe Rail Trail is a popular local recreation facility, helping to improve the community’s health and wellbeing, plus attracting active tourists. Keeping hydrated while using the trail in all seasons is also very important.
So an additional water station has recently been installed on the O’Keefe Rail Trail, located adjacent to the rail trail’s Wilkie Road car park in Junortoun. This facility has been jointly funded by a Strathfieldsaye and District Community Enterprise community grant, the Friends of the Bendigo-Kilmore Rail Trail, Coliban Water, and the City of Greater Bendigo council.
An official ‘turning on the water’ ceremony was attended by the City of Greater Bendigo Mayor, Andrea Metcalf, Eppalock Ward Councillors Margaret O’Rourke, Matthew Evans and Greg Penna, supporting Strathfieldsaye and District Community Enterprise’s Dennis Johanson, Council’s Liaison Officer Heather Grenon, together with members from the Friends group.
Trail users are encouraged to support the efforts of this active volunteer community group, by being involved. It’s easy, just contact us and become a member https://bendigokilmorerailtrail.com/contact-us/
