Have you ever thought how wonderful it would be to be taken for a ride in a trishaw? To be offered a mini ‘escape’ from your residence, to experience the wind in your face with a volunteer peddling you around!
A formal program named Cycling Without Age is currently operating in Castlemaine, using an e-trishaw to take elderly persons for an outing to experience local points of interest such as the Botanical Gardens.
Friends of the Bendigo-Kilmore Rail Trail member Pam Erny is just one of a number of local volunteers who enjoy peddling the Cycling Without Age trishaw in Castlemaine.
This program is functioned nationally by different community organisations and volunteers. Perhaps similar could be operate in other Victorian locations, like Bendigo, being started by community support to make it happen!
