With much enthusiasm and some planning for the judging of the best decorated bike and rider to occur, Friends members gathered for a Christmas night ride.
Meeting at Lake Weeroona, Pat Dorey was rewarded as being judged for her decorating and costume efforts. Then, the ride group headed off at dusk for the O’Keefe Rail Trail.
Flashing coloured lights plus tail and headlights soon highlighted the group as a bright flickering ‘train’ travelling along the trail.
After lots of discussions at one of the trail’s rest areas with a water station, table and seats, this being at Mike’s planned turnaround point, it was lights on for the return ride to Bendigo.
The warm weather conditions then changed, as the cool front winds added to the riders’ enjoyable experience. Such a social activity is sure to be repeated again in 2024.
