October’s last Wednesday of the month ride was Le Tour de Junortoun and Strathfieldsaye. Gathering at the Baptist Church, Junortoun, riders dressed for the day’s somewhat cooler weather.
The relaxing ride took the cyclists through the ‘Forest Edge’ housing estate in Junortoun and onto the Bendigo National Park’s trail to Strathfieldsaye. Following the Sheep Wash Creek (apparently named for that reason!) Trail, the group looped back into the forest to use Wildflower Drive. After a bit of a climb, a welcome break was the Chonky Bulldog Coffee van in Strathdale, for a chat, as well as catching a breath for some.
The final section had riders using urban streets and then the O’Keefe Rail Trail. A total of 22kms made for a pleasant, social ride, enjoyed by all who participated.
