Join the Friends of Bendigo-Kilmore Rail Trail on Saturday 7th May 2011, as we ride the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail.

Nimmons Bridge on the Ballarat Skipton Rail Trail

The rail trail is 53 km long and has a fine gravel surface, suitable for MTB and hybrid bikes. It traverses rolling hills, scrub-land forests and grassy plains. It crosses the historic Nimmons trestle bridge at Newtown and passes many historical gold mining sites and conservation areas. The Friends will provide organisation, ride leader, back up ‘SAG’ wagon, first aid, email confirmation of booking etc. Gold coin donations  would be appreciated on the day of the ride. Download the flyer or find all the nitty gritty details below.

When: Saturday 7th May, 2011
What: The trail ride will start in Gregory St, opposite the North Gardens (near cnr Gillies St), Wendouree 10:00am, finishes Lismore St Skipton, approx 4:00-4:30pm. Ride stops for lunch and trail attractions.
Bring: Your own hybrid bike or MTB, water, snacks, medications, sunscreen, mobile phone, spares (e.g. at least one tube, etc).
Transport: (a) Own transport to/ from the rail trail’s start/finish.(b) bus + bike transport available (leaving Bendigo) limited places.

Bus transport details:
Bus option cost is $30 each, leave/return Kennington Reservoir car park, Reservoir Rd, Bendigo.
Bike loading starts at 7:10 am, bus leaves 7:30 am sharp.
Full payment is required upon your booking. (Refunded if the arranged bus is oversubscribed)

Lunch: At Scarsdale or Linton Hotel (a booking will be made) or BYO lunch.
Fitness: A good level of fitness is required to complete this ride, suitable only for people who regularly ride. Trail surface is compacted fine gravel.
