Trail Counting – 24/7

Are you being countered as an O’Keefe Rail Trail user? How? No, there is not a volunteer sitting behind a tree with pencil and paper counting each cyclist or walker passing along on this trail!

The City of Greater Bendigo Council has recently installed a magnetic loop counter on this trail, so that cycle traffic can be recorded each time a bike passes over an electronic loop imbedded in an asphalt pad on the trail. This trail traffic management device, along with two already installed infra-red counters along this trail, will assist to record trail use and aid with future planning.
